About The Majestic
The Majestic serves classic New Yorkβstyle Chinese American takeout food, inspired by the kind of places you remember long after the meal is over.
Located at 321 Merrimon Ave, Asheville, NC 28801, The Majestic operates as a chinese restaurant serving Asheville in North Carolina. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Asheville; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in North Carolina are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 4β9 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (828) 407-1770. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, themajesticavl.com.
With 4.1 out of 5 on Google from 153 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for chinese restaurants in Asheville. Recent reviews are the best guide.
Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Asheville is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ Iβm honestly so surprised to see some poor reviews for The Majestic because my experience was absolutely amazing. This is easily some of the best food Iβve had in a long time! The negative reviews seem to focus on wait times, but I think itβs important to keep in mind that this is a new restaurant that is still working out the kinks and itβs clearly extremely popular. I dined in and had no noticeable wait. Even during the little bit of waiting we did have, we were brought these delicious crispy wontons with homemade mustard and other sauces to enjoy. We were even given a complimentary dessert orange, which was such a thoughtful touch. And the FOOD. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can genuinely taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The orange chicken in particular was incredible. You can actually tell they use fresh oranges, and the flavor was so much better than your typical orange chicken. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was extremely clean, and the whole experience was wonderful. I really hope people donβt let the early reviews about wait times keep them from trying this place. New restaurants sometimes

I recently ordered takeout and tried the egg rolls, General Tsoβs chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and combination fried rice. The egg rolls were big, but they were not my favorite because they lacked flavor. Unfortunately, the entrees were all very salty, and the chicken was chewy. I didn't finised anything. I ordered at the counter and waited about 30 minutes. Considering the amount I paid, I left feeling disappointed and not fully satisfied with the meal. I understand the restaurant has just opened, and I hope they take the feedback from customers and continue to improve. For now, though, I am not sure I would return anytime soon.

We tried the crab rangoons, shrimp lo mein, & the general tsoβs chicken & rice. Everything was extremely sweet (in a bad way). I was so excited to find a new restaurant with βauthentic, NY-style chinese food,β but this isnβt it. Itβs overpriced with a fancy takeout box & a cute atmosphere. Beijing Chinese takeout is way more flavorful than this is, at half the price.

Good food but service is really sub par We entered to find it without A/C. Placed an order for Pork Potstickers and for $14.00 got 4??? Also ordered Crispy Beef but it was not added to the order, the nice lady forgot to add them. We ordered a Combo Rice that was very good. They were definitely not ready to open. Hopefully their service will improve and the portions will be up to par
